Nearly everyone has a celebrity he or she looks up to, including young country newcomers Maddie & Tae. If they were able to sit down with any celebrity, past or present, they would jump at the opportunity to talk with a couple of strong, successful women.
“I wanna sit down with Marilyn Monroe,” Tae Dye said. “Back then, she was beautiful and perfect and nowadays she’d be considered a ‘Plus Size’ model, which is ridiculous. She’s gorgeous and she’s smart and intelligent.”
Maddie Marlow would welcome an opportunity to have a conversation with Dolly Parton. “Just to see how she has been so poised throughout her whole entire career, but still like a…take-no-prisoners, very strong independent woman,” she said. “I would love to get some advice from her.”

As 2014 draws to a close, RaeLynn is reflecting on what turned out to be a pretty great year. She even managed to keep a number of her New Year 2014 resolutions.
“This last year my New Year’s resolution was that I wanted to eat really healthy … which I stuck to, thank you,” she said. She also wanted a single on the radio, and to see it perform well. Her debut song, “God Made Girls,” just cracked the Top 20.

“So crazy to see my New Year’s resolution happening,” she said. ”I definitely have some cool ones in store for 2015.”
In contrast, Thomas Rhett and his wife won’t be making resolutions to eat healthy or work out more.

Christmas is a time for family, and that sentiment holds true for Justin Moore and RaeLynn. Having three little girls at home makes the day extra special for Moore and his wife, Kate. Christmas is all about their daughters, and their oldest, Ella, provided the couple with one of their favorite memories on her first Christmas.
“She actually got her first tooth on Christmas morning,” he said. “That was pretty neat to see and something we’ll always remember.” Justin’s middle daughter, Kennedy, just turned three in November, and Rebecca, is five months old. “Of course I’m gonna spoil them rotten,” he said. “That’s my job as a daddy, especially to little girls.”

The Band Perry consider themselves to be fairly health-conscious by choosing healthy foods and sticking to a workout routine, but at Thanksgiving, all bets are off, thanks to Kimberly Perry’s sweet potato casserole.
“Here is the trick,” Perry says. “You know how most sweet potato casseroles either have marshmallows or the sugar little nutty mix on top? Well, I put both of those on there, so we have marshmallows and the sugary, nutty topping.”
Brother Neil Perry tries to trick himself into believing the casserole is healthier than it actually is since it has no butter, but big sister Kimberly has to disagree. “Oh no, it’s like 1,000 calories per spoonful,” she said.
Maddie Marlow of Maddie & Tae also has a favorite casserole for the holiday season. “My mom and I make this delicious broccoli cheese casserole, and it is the bomb.com,” she said. “I cannot go to Thanksgiving or Christmas without that casserole. And then my mom makes this amazing chocolate pecan pie. I wish you could have Thanksgiving food year-round.”

Blake Shelton’s 2013 album, Based On A True Story. Photo courtesy of Warner Bros. Records.
Blake Shelton has debuted the all-star music video for his latest single, “Boys ‘Round Here.” Filmed at The Walt Disney Golden Oak Ranch in Santa Clarita just after the ACM Awards, the video is one big party featuring the Pistol Annies and RaeLynn.
The cast spent a full day filming in 50mph winds, co-starring with a giant red pickup truck, which was over four feet high just to step into — and even the original Chik-Fil-A cow made a cameo.

Blake Shelton’s 2013 album, Based On A True Story… Photo courtesy of Warner Bros. Records.
CMA Entertainer of the Year Blake Shelton’s eighth studio album comes from a happy place. Based On A True Story…, which is due in stores March 26, tells the sort of tale you’d expect to hear from an artist clearly on the ascent with a soaring national profile and an ever-growing fan base. Working again with longtime producer Scott Hendricks (Trace Adkins, Jana Kramer), Blake dishes up 12 contemporary-leaning songs on the new record that serve as a lighthearted companion to his 2011 platinum-selling album, Red River Blue.
Things have been going well for Blake, whose national popularity skyrocketed after settling into a judge’s chair on the hit singing competition, The Voice. An increased role in the TV spotlight appears to be having an effect on his music as Based On A True Story… features some of Blake’s finest and most confident performances to date. The album opener, “Boys ‘Round Here,” which features wife Miranda Lambert’s band Pistol Annies as well as former The Voice contestant RaeLynn, gains strength from a subtle acoustic hick hop beat before Blake’s easy drawl falls perfectly in time with the music. Giving fun-loving shout outs to Hank Jr., chewing tobacco and dirt roads, the performance exemplifies Blake’s easygoing demeanor. On the cinematic power ballad, “Do You Remember,” Blake carefully builds the drama before breaking into a powerfully nostalgic chorus. And on the standout track, “Mine Would Be You,” a miss-her-badly whose full effect isn’t realized until the twist, Blake’s melodies are one part soothing, one part regret.
Popular reference points like dirt roads and Chevy truck beds do make steady appearances. Continue Reading

Jason Aldean’s new single, “1994,” is a fun, nostalgic look back at the year Jason was a senior in high school, Joe Diffie had a mullet, Justin Bieber was born, the OJ Simpson trial was headline news and a gallon of gas was $1.09. To celebrate the release of “1994,” Jason took to Twitter to ask fans to submit their photos from 1994. It didn’t take him long to bring his country star friends on board.
Luke Bryan was one of Jason’s first targets. Jason tweeted a school photo of himself from 1994 and asked Luke an important question. “Hey @LukeBryanOnline were ur jeans as tight in #1994 as they are now? I gotta see a pic! Here’s mine. I had a pager!”

In the name of friendship, Luke replied with an answer – and photographic evidence that he too used to wear a cowboy hat! “buddy, I’d say they aren’t as tight but they are just as cool. #1994,” he wrote.
Jason also reached out to Keith Urban – to thank him for his support and ask for his throwback photo. “Hey @KeithUrban thanks for all the love on the new song. You’ve always had style. Show us your #1994 look!”

Keith was kind enough to reply – with a photo. “I was rockin the oversize thrift store jacket in #1994!!!!!” he tweeted.
Jason revealed some dirt on Dierks Bentley to get him to offer up a photo of his 1994 look. “I heard @DierksBentley was a big Billy Idol fan around #1994 and he had the look to match! I know the ladies would love to see that, DB!” Jason wrote. Continue Reading
