On October 1, Lady Antebellum will make their debut appearance on the long-running late-night comedy series, Saturday Night Live. The show will be hosted by actress Melissa McCarthy, who will be making her debut appearance as host.  McCarthy currently stars in the CBS sitcom Mike & Molly, for which she recently earned her first Emmy Award nomination.  She also appeared in this summer’s box office blockbuster Bridesmaids alongside SNL’s Kristen Wiig.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? On GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown, our gratitude includes an appreciation for all the country stars who’ve embraced the show, and in this weekend’s edition, the countdown will feature some of the best interview clips with Nan Kelley and Suzanne Alexander from 2010, including guest visits from the likes of Lady Antebellum, Kenny Chesney, Jeff Bridges and Reba McEntire.

It’s been a big year for many of the guests in the highlights episode. Taylor Swift more than held her own last Saturday night when she hosted Saturday Night Live (and also performed). Highlights of the night included her opening monologue, in which she sang a song that name-checked her ex, Joe Jonas, and her rumored current beau, Taylor Lautner from the “Twilight” movie franchise (as well as Taylor’s co-star in the upcoming movie, “Valentine”).

Taylor also displayed her comedy skills in the “Firelight” skit, a “Twilight” spoof; in a driving public service announcement; and as Kate Gosselin in “The View” sketch. After the show, she hung out with cast memeber Jason Sudeikis, talking about the whole experience. Continue Reading
