Rascal Flatts celebrated their No. 1 single “I Won’t Let Go” in Nashville on Wednesday with a party hosted by Big Machine Records and ASCAP. While celebrating the song’s success with family and friends and the track’s writers, Jason Sellers and Steve Robson, the trio was surprised with the news that their first album for Big Machine Records, Nothing Like This, has sold more than one million copies.

“With God’s help we have been able to bring together a wonderful group of people to surround and reinvigorate our career,” Jay DeMarcus said. “We are living a dream come true.”

“Working with Gary, Joe Don and Jay over the last year has been an absolute blast and I look forward to making a lot more great Rascal Flatts music with them,” Big Machine Label Group President/CEO Scott Borchetta said. “They are Continue Reading

Big Machine Label Combines Racing & Country Music

Country fans are often equally as passionate about racing — and now Big Machine Label Group, the musical home of Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts and Martina McBride, is making that love official by securing naming rights for the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with plans to create a festival environment at the track for racing and music fans.

Officially the Brickyard 400 presented by Big Machine Records.com, this is the first time a record label has presented a nationally-televised race in the 100-year history of The Speedway. Before the race on July 31, Justin Moore, The Band Perry, Brantley Gilbert, Thomas Rhett and more will perform special acoustic sets. Rascal Flatts will perform a Continue Reading

Brad Paisley, Reba McEntire: Send-Off for an On-Air Friend

“Let the blubbering begin!”

Gerry House, who’s been the morning man to the stars as a fixture on Nashville’s morning radio for most of the last three decades, signed off Wednesday on his very last shift for WSIX-FM. It’s a retirement from regular morning shows, but not a retirement from his life’s work as a writer and comedic talent.

Gerry announced his departure some three months ago, and the stars have either called in or come by the studio in droves over the last week to wish him well. Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban have had funny and/or sentimental moments. On Wednesday’s shift, the well-wishers included Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire.

WSIX Vice President Tom English announced the station was renaming the studio as “The House,” in honor of Gerry and his House Foundation show.

“It’s a very, very sad day for Nashville, but a great day for you,” Brad said.

Rascal Flatts picked Taylor Swift to open for them in 2008 — now they’ve picked her label, Big Machine Records, as their new musical home.

“We are extremely excited about our new partnership with Big Machine Records!” says Jay DeMarcus, bassist and background vocalist for Rascal Flatts. “We believe that Scott Borchetta and all of the folks over there are a perfect fit for what Rascal Flatts is trying to accomplish over the next few years. The last 10 years have been amazing but we are even more excited about the next phase of our career; Scott understands us, he knows what we’re about and it’s always a wonderful thing to have someone who believes in you and your music that much in your corner.”

“Rascal Flatts are the biggest band in country music and we’re honored and thrilled to have them join the Big Machine Records family,” says Big Machine Label Group President/CEO Scott Borchetta. Continue Reading
