Dierks Bentley

CMA Music Festival is all about the fans. It gives them the chance to get up close and personal with their favorite artists. In turn, it also gives stars the chance to meet their fans one on one and let them know how much they appreciate their support. For Dierks Bentley, it’s also a chance to catch up with old friends. “I know a lot of the early fans by name, because we played a lot of shows at a lot of small venues where we’d be around a lot after the shows,” he said. “I’m not gonna say her name, but she has a dog print of Jake on her shoulder, with my name in the middle of the tattoo. That’s a big deal when somebody gets your name tattooed on part of their body. It’s kind of a scary thing, because it’s kind of a lifelong commitment.” Continue Reading

The early morning hours of Monday morning turned frightening for Scotty McCreery and some of his friends when they became victims of a home invasion robbery. According to ABC affiliate WTVD-TV, three armed men entered the group’s apartment near the North Carolina State campus where Scotty is finishing up his sophomore year. The suspects took cash, wallets and electronics before fleeing the scene. No one was hurt.

“Yes, it was definitely a very scary night,” Scotty wrote on Facebook. “Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case. I will share more when the time is right, but as of now we do not want to do or say anything that could hinder the investigation. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. A huge thank you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case.” Continue Reading

With a new season of American Idol officially underway, Scotty McCreery is having a hard time believing it has already been three years since he auditioned for the show’s tenth season as a 17 year old. He went on to be crowned the winner and quite a few things have changed since then. He’s also learned a lot in the years that have followed.

“I’ve grown up a heck of a lot in the last couple years,” he said. “I did a lot of growing up because I’m in an adult world now,” he explains. “I’m out there on the road, hanging with my band, and hanging with my managers and different artists. I’ve learned a lot about myself and what’s out there – what the world has to offer. And that’ll be showing in my music.” Continue Reading

Formed in the wake of the horrific school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newton, Conn., the organization promotes performing arts as a healing mechanism following tragedy. As an ambassador, Scotty will promote the foundation’s arts programming, support its fundraising efforts, and build awareness of the organization’s mission.

“I’m honored to support the 12.14 Foundation, and greatly admire both the mission and work of this remarkable organization,” Scotty said. “As a songwriter and performer, I know that music can bring hope and inspiration to those struggling to overcome great adversity. The foundation’s vision of helping children and others heal through the performing arts really hits home for me as an entertainer. I will do everything I can to help communities affected by tragedy to heal and gain strength through the work of the 12.14 Foundation.” Continue Reading
