The new Jason Aldean album has a bundle of interesting songs, but a couple in particular have turned a lot of heads. There’s the duet with Kelly Clarkson, “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” and there’s a song called “Dirt Road Anthem,” which includes a rap section in the middle with a couple phrases that sound like he’s been listening to Snoop Dogg.
A lot of the words go by pretty fast, so just spitting them out was a bit of a challenge. But it’s not the first time Jason’s encountered that.

He knows when to hold ‘em, and there’s no need to fold ‘em: The man they call The Gambler hopes to pull an ace out of his sleeve with a television special, “Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years.”
Kenny hasn’t found a TV home for it yet, but he has got a date and place for the shoot: April 10 at the Foxwoods Resort Casino’s MGM Grand Theater in Mashantucket, Conn. He also has a bunch of friends lined up to help out: Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Alison Krauss, Wynonna and the Oak Ridge Boys.

Carrie Underwood is country music’s reigning Female Vocalist of the Year, and she got her big break on the pop TV show “American Idol.” But her latest single gives her a bit of a relationship to rap music.
Carrie co-wrote “Cowboy Casanova” with “Jesus, Take The Wheel” author Brett James and Mike Elizondo, whose resume includes work as a musician and/or songwriter for such acts as Eminem, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg. On the surface, it sounds like a weird mix, and that apparently worked in the three writers’ favor, since they felt no pressure.
