If you’ve been watching our new show, Tom’s Wild Life — and if you’re not, you should be! — you’re no doubt familiar with the opening theme, “Give A Damn.” The song was written by (and is performed by) new artist Lucas Hoge.

“I feel very lucky that GAC wanted to use “Give A Damn” as the theme song,” says Lucas. “I grew up in a small town of about 44 people, with only seven in my high school class, and yes, that was a public school!  Hunting, fishing, farming and dirt roads, is all we know, so the song is a big part of who I am and what I enjoy in life.

“What inspired me to write the song was seeing a clip from the pilot episode,” Lucas continues. “The producers and I had worked together before on another hunting show and they sent over the first cut. Literally about 15 seconds into it, I walked away (LMAO), picked up my guitar and starting humming the melody of the chorus, throwing out random words to start with. It was just one of those songs that “fell” onto the paper.”
