Why Justin Moore Will Cut Back His Touring Schedule This Year

Why Justin Moore Will Cut Back His Touring Schedule This Year

Justin Moore will wrap his headlining Off the Beaten Path Tour on Saturday. He has been on tour since November and plans to take a couple of weeks off before playing some bigger fairs and festivals this summer. He’s scaling back his touring schedule for the remainder of the year, playing closer to 100 shows instead of 150 or more as he has in previous years.

“We’re not gonna do as many of the county fairs, and things that we’ve done in the past, simply because my girls are getting older and I wanna spend as much time at home as I can with them,” he said. “Fortunately, country radio has given us a lot of hit records so we can be a little more picky about what we play. All the stuff we played in the past has been a blast, and it’s been the reason why we’re where we are, but I think there’s something to be said for not over diluting an area.” Continue Reading

George Strait was just named Entertainer of the Year at the ACM Awards. Picking up the award didn’t sway his decision to make his The Cowboy Rides Away Tour his last full tour, however. While he plans to play the occasional show, he won’t launch another tour after wrapping the final leg of his current one at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on June 7.

“It’s been a great two years of touring,” George said. “We probably got about 10 more things to do this year, and then we’re done for a while. I’ll probably take a year off and maybe do a record, and then I’m gonna do a few dates after that…here and there.” Continue Reading

Tim McGraw will kick off his Sundown Heaven Town Tour in May, but he’s been hard at work on the show for a while. During the planning process, he makes it a collaborative effort, bringing in professionals, family, friends and even friends of friends to get their thoughts and opinions on what makes a good show. He also looks for a set that will energize everyone in attendance, especially him and his band.

“You can have every technology that’s out there, you can have the biggest screens, and you can have the best lights and all that kinda stuff, but if you’re not having fun, then they’re not gonna have fun,” he said. “I like having all that stuff, and sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not. Even in the middle of having it, sometimes I feel like I wish I didn’t have it. But, it’s just about what makes us feel really excited about it.” Continue Reading

George Strait is currently in the middle of final leg of his The Cowboy Rides Away Tour. While he still has a few months to go before wrapping his tour and is enjoying traveling the country to play for his fans one last time, he sees a tropical vacation in his future.

“I’m going somewhere,” he said. “I don’t know where, but I’m going somewhere to celebrate.
