Jason Aldean works out with the Atlanta Braves during a taping of GAC's series "Day Jobs." Photo courtesy of Taillight TV.
A new crop of country stars are heading back to their pre-fame gigs when GAC’s Day Jobs returns for a second season on April 4 at 10/9 p.m. CT. Each one-hour episode follows three celebrities as they go back to the jobs that paid the bills while they pursued their dreams of stardom. During their shift, they find out if they still have what it takes and are reminded of just how far they’ve come.
This season will feature stars such as Jason Aldean, Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler, Trisha Yearwoodand Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton. A new twist for the second season is that participants were able to choose between their former day job or a job they’ve dreamed of having. For Jason Aldean, that meant spending a day at training camp with the Atlanta Braves, while Scott Hamilton taught at a school within Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.
“The first season of Day Jobs got great response from both viewers and country stars interested in being a part of the second season, Sarah Trahern, GAC GM/SVP, said. “From Scotty McCreery bagging groceries to Kellie Pickler getting a rare look inside the Elephant Sanctuary, to HLN TV star Robin Meade working at the Ohio factory where her parents spent their careers; viewers will get to see a different side of their favorite stars.”

Most of the time, it’s about the music. But this is show business, after all — and if you’re a country star, sometimes it’s about how you look while you’re moving people with your songs. If you’ve ever wondered how to get that “smokey eye” worn by many of your favorite stars on the red carpet, Trailer Choir‘s Crystal Hoyt breaks it down in a few simple steps. Before making it in music, Crystal made her living helping people look their best — so she knows what she’s doing.
“Since I was a successful make-up artist before my music career took off,” she says in her blog, Get Crystal-Ized!, “I have always enjoyed sharing and educating others on my tips and techniques for Do-It-Yourself hair & make-up (since- with the exception of a couple of photo shoots and awards shows), I almost always do my own. So, I thought that I would start a blog here to share all my little tips & & tricks along my with failures and successes with everything along the way for anyone who would like to join me for the ride.

Several stars tweeted pictures of their incredibly cute pups. Here are our picks for the Top 10 Country Tweets Of The Week.

Trailer Choir co-hosts Top 20 Country Countdown with Suzanne Alexander at the 2010 Country Thunder festival in Wisconsin. Photo by Eric Jensen.
Wisconsin’s Country Thunder was four days of people, rain and wall-to-wall country music. Mother Nature might not have been kind to the festival’s visitors, but they didn’t seem to mind a little water or mud when it gave them a chance to see Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Sugarland or Trailer Choir. GAC’s Suzanne Alexander didn’t mind either — she was there, too, chatting with some of those stars for this weekend’s Top 20 Country Countdown (check out our festival photos here).
The rain was certainly a problem for Country Thunder last weekend, though the show, as they say, must go on. Randy Houser, Luke Bryan, Craig Morgan, Gloriana, Kevin Costner, Jason Aldean, Billy Currington, Miranda and Sugarland were all on hand — and all of them spent a little time with Suzanne. As did Trailer Choir, a new trio whose album Tailgate came out earlier this month. The fun-loving band’s Big Vinny even found Suzanne hiding in his bunk! Watch the clip below:
