Tyler Farr has released the music video for his new single, “Whiskey in My Water.” Filmed at the George Dickel distillery outside of Nashville, the clip follows a couple in love as they experience everyday moments and wait for the sun to go down while Tyler performs the song among rows of whiskey.

“’Whiskey in My Water’ is just one of those songs that just came out of nowhere,” Tyler said. “The lyrics just flowed. It’s pretty much my way, or any other country boy’s way, of expressing to a girl, ‘Hey, you’re my kind of girl.”

Tyler Farr’s Second Love: Hunting

Tyler Farr's Second Love: Hunting

Tyler Farr was first exposed to the life of a musician when his stepfather, a guitar player for George Jones, took him on the road with the band. But his second love in life is hunting. He sat down for a Q&A with Field & Stream magazine where he talked about the upcoming hunting season, finding time to hunt on tour and his first hunting trip with his father.

“There was a Methodist church not far from my house, and my dad took me there for my first whitetail hunt,” he said. “I was 10 or 12 years old and we got there early, early in the morning for the opener of the youth season, and the folks at the church were serving biscuits and gravy and had a big breakfast for a bunch of old men and kids. Then everybody went out hunting, and it just happened to be about 20 degrees that day with a half foot of snow on the ground, and I ended up shooting my first deer. I was hooked from then on.” Continue Reading

Tyler Farr celebrates girls and trucks. Just what Country Music needs, right?

In Farr’s case, absolutely. He follows a familiar path through much of Redneck Crazy, his Columbia Nashville debut. But every now and then he slams on the brakes and veers in an unexpected direction.

Farr’s drawl draws from somewhere south of his hometown, Garden City, Mo. He rasps too, whether it’s from loving the outdoorsman’s lifestyle or working four nights each week at Tootsies Orchid Lounge. (The legendary Nashville venue hired him originally as a bouncer.)

His music is catchy, riff-heavy and steeped deep in tradition. He knows what kind of image he projects. But he has fun with it too, on “Wish I Had a Boat,” which is all about … wishing he had a boat. On various tracks, he compliments his ladies by comparing them to moonshine. Continue Reading

“Thank you to all of my fans and to country radio for the love and support y’all have shown me throughout my career,” he said. “From the moment I first heard this song, I knew we had something unique and different. The edge it brought to the table, lyrically and musically, took me to a time where I felt those emotions, which is why we write and sing country music, to make people feel something, and thankfully, country music fans did. I am very humbled by this entire experience and will continue to write, sing and record country music for country music fans and country music radio.” Continue Reading

Armed with a rugged drawl and a country rasp, Tyler Farr’s debut album plays like the soundtrack to a keg-fueled Saturday night. Redneck Crazy, which will be released on September 30, matches rowdy bar band tunes with salutes to girls, backroads and booze to power a hard-partying 11-song set.
