Sugarland, Zac Brown, LL Cool J, KISS & More Added as ACM Awards Presenters

The Academy of Country Music announced today that Zac Brown, Brantley Gilbert, Liam Hemsworth, LL COOL J, Scotty McCreery, The Band Perry, KISS, Sugarland, and Thompson Square are scheduled to present as part of the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The ceremony, which honors country music’s top talent as well as the industry’s hottest emerging artists, is produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 8 p.m. live Eastern/delayed Pacific on CBS.

Brown, Gilbert, Hemsworth, LL COOL J, McCreery, The Band Perry, KISS, Sugarland, and Thompson Square join previously announced presenters Beth Behrs, Hunter Hayes, Lionel Richie, Taylor Swift and Nancy O’Dell.

Craig Morgan, Thompson Square to Perform at Military Concert During ACM Experience

Craig Morgan, Thompson Square, Lee Brice, Kip Moore, JT Hodges and Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers will perform at ACM Concert – Salute To The Military on March 31 at the ACM Experience in Las Vegas. HLN’s Robin Meade will host the event.

ACM Concert – Salute to the Military is presented by NRA Country and is a free, open-to-the-public event celebrating military families and country music fans. It will be a part of the ACM Experience, a weekend of special events at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Military ID holders will have a reserved section for the show. During the concert, charitable donations to Folds of Honor Foundation, Nellis Air Force Base Youth Programs and Wounded Warrior Project will be made.

The ACM Experience is the first-ever free, open-to-the-public country music event created for fans during The Week Vegas Goes Country, the week leading up to the ACM Awards. The even held March 30 – April 1 will include the ACM BBQ Throwdown, ACM EXPO, the Ram Ride and Drive and more. The event ends with the ACM Fan Jam hosted by Zac Brown Band on April 1. Zac Brown Band, Sonia Leigh Featured on New Compilation CD

Zac Brown’s record label, Southern Ground Artists, will release its latest album, Free Southern Ground Artists Compilation, Vol. 2, in celebration of Record Store Day 2012. The album will feature a live version of Zac Brown Band’s “No Hurry” as well as songs from Sonia Leigh, The Wood Brothers, and Blackberry Smoke, among others

The album will be distributed via Record Store Day April 21 at more than 350 indie music stores. It will also be available at the ACM Awards Fan Jam in Las Vegas, hosted by Zac Brown Band. Blackberry Smoke, Sonia Leigh, and Levi Lowrey will all perform as part of the ACM Experience at the Mandalay Bay Fan Jam March 30-April 1. Continue Reading

GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown welcomed both Lee Brice and Casey James this week to talk about their new music! Casey chatted with host Nan Kelley about his self-titled debut album, out March 20, while Lee gave Suzanne Alexander details about his new album, Hard 2 Love, out April 24. Nan also counted down this week’s Top 20 videos. Miss Friday night’s premiere? Check the schedulefor re-airs throughout the weekend!

It’s a week of debuts on the chart this week. Miranda Lambert debuts in the top spot with her new video, “Over You,” while Taylor Swift’s “Safe & Sound” featuring The Civil Wars enters the chart at No 8. Kip Moore makes his first-ever Top 20 appearance with his video, “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck,” coming in at No. 18. New videos from Thompson Square and Rascal Flatts also enter the countdown this week.

ACM New Artist of the Year nominees Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes & Scotty McCreery.

The Academy of Country Music and dick clark productions announced today that ACM New Artist of the Year nominees Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes and Scotty McCreery have been added to the line-up for the 2nd Annual ACM Fan Jam and Post-Award Concert, hosted by Zac Brown Band, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Also taking to the ACM Fan Jam stage is electric cowboy DeeJay Silver, who will produce signature country music remixes and mash-ups for fans in between performances. ACM Fan Jam is the fans-only live concert event taking place in Las Vegas during and after the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 8 p.m. live ET/delayed PT on CBS.

As previously announced, ACM Award winners and multi-platinum artists Zac Brown Band will headline the 2nd Annual ACM Fan Jam, which gives country music lovers the ultimate fan-pass to be part of the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards! Throughout the three-hour Awards telecast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, there will be live ACM Fan Jam performances by top-tier music acts, via remote, from the Mandalay Bay Events Center.  Tickets for the ACM Fan Jam are on sale NOW, priced at $37 and $57.

After making it through the first round of fan voting, newcomer nominees Brantley, Hunter and Scotty will now compete for the coveted ACM New Artist of the Year title. The winner will be awarded on the ACM Fan Jam stage during the LIVE Awards telecast. Taylor Swift Is Billboard’s Top Money Maker

Country stars are making big bucks. Billboard released its annual list of Money Makers, ranking the Top 40 wealthiest artists of 2011 based on U.S. income from tours, albums sales and publishing royalties. Country stars took up 11 of the 40 slots, with Taylor Swift coming in on top, earning $35.7 million — 17% more than last year’s top earner, Lady Gaga.

U2 came in behind Taylor with Kenny Chesney taking the third spot. Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne rounded out the Top 5. Other country stars making the list include Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts and Tim McGraw, all of who were listed in the Top 20, as well as Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, Zac Brown Band and Sugarland.
